iPhone 12 Pro: keep, sell or upgrade

This preview checks the support evidence before making a conditional recommendation. Calculated EU floors and reached or missing dates call for review. Repair costs use stated probability assumptions; resale timing is not forecast. A refurbished shop price is a purchase cost.

Recommendation

Review your options

There is no usable dated support reference. Check current manufacturer policy and choose your intended ownership period. Missing evidence alone does not justify selling or upgrading.

Years to manufacturer horizon Not estimated No future manufacturer horizon is eligible for this calculation.

Support reference Not estimated No usable dated support reference.

Repair risk Not estimated No official battery or screen price, and no repair is counted, so there is no euro figure.

Resale / trade-in Not estimated No trade-in or resale price in the catalogue. We do not invent one.

Refurbished replacement Not estimated No refurbished shop price for this phone. We do not invent one. A refurbished price is a buy price, not cash from a sale.

Resale evidence Not estimated No observed resale-price history supports a dated drop in value. No resale-drop date is forecast.

Cost per year Not estimated No tracked shop price, so cost per year is not estimated.

The official part price is published in more than one country shop. It is on the part-price page after you choose a country. We do not pick a shop here.

How this recommendation is made

Only a future manufacturer horizon supplies the years used for a keep, sell or upgrade call and for this preview’s cost-per-year denominator. A calculated EU floor, a reached reference or a missing date returns review. Reference dates remain visible with their basis, and a floor can still be used as a planning window for the battery-cycle estimate.
Repair risk is an estimate: (official battery price + published labour + published shipping) × a stated battery probability, plus the same for the screen. The probability is 1 if you say that repair is due. Otherwise battery health sets it (under 80%: 0.8, 80 to 89%: 0.4, 90% or more: 0.1). A figure you type wins. If you leave it blank, a median is used only when this model has at least 5 moderated battery-health readings. Otherwise the EU rated cycles at one full charge a day set it (0.5 if that year has passed, 0.25 if it falls before the support reference used as a planning window, otherwise 0). Screen probability stays 0 unless you say a screen repair is due. Screen age is left blank. A missing official price, labour euro, or shipping euro is left out. A maker service price that already includes the part is shown beside it and is not added again. These stated probabilities are modelling assumptions, not measured failure rates.
A purchase year is treated as 1 July of that year and moves only the battery-cycle estimate. Cost per year is (tracked price − observed resale + repair risk) ÷ years left, and only when a tracked price, an eligible future manufacturer horizon and a repair-risk figure exist. Resale euros come only from observed trade-in, buyback, or resale quotes. One quote is used as it is. Two or more quotes in euros are shown as a low–high band, and cost per year subtracts the low, which is one of those quotes. A refurbished shop price is the cost to buy a refurbished unit. It is not used as a sell price and it is not subtracted.
No resale-drop date is forecast. A manufacturer date or calculated EU floor does not establish a market-value change. Observed sell quotes can support a euro comparison, but without an observed price history they do not establish when a drop occurs.
With an eligible manufacturer horizon under 2 years away, the preview returns review unless a due repair, battery health under 80%, or a chosen catalogue phone with at least 2 more years to an eligible manufacturer horizon triggers the existing upgrade rule. At least 2 years returns keep, unless the official repair you mark is at least half your replacement budget or exceeds the lowest observed sell quote while under 4 years remain. Derived, reached or missing references do not trigger these automatic calls. The refurbished ask is shown beside your budget and does not change the call by itself.

Sell quotes are shown only with an https source. One quote is shown as that figure. Two or more sell-side quotes in euros are a low–high band, and cost per year subtracts the low. A refurbished price is the cost to buy a refurbished unit, not cash from a sale. We do not invent euros, a battery-health percentage, or a screen age. Labour and shipping are added only when a sourced euro is on file for that part. Public and Kotsovolos are listed on this export. A tracked new price is used only when that export has a row for this phone. Still open: a sign-off before this preview is indexed.
