Galaxy S25 vs S26 at 512GB: what justifies the extra €100?

A dated Greek 512GB comparison: the €100 item-price gap, different colours, Samsung's specifications, EU battery evidence and the costs still to check.

ComparisonGuides

If you are choosing a new 512GB phone, the Galaxy S26 deserves consideration at the €100 item-price premium recorded here. Its later launch-based support window and higher declared endurance per charge may matter. Choose the S25 when its smaller size suits you and those differences do not justify your final checkout premium. Someone already happy with an S25 has a different decision: keeping it can be the better answer.

This is a 5 November 2026 snapshot of two new phones offered for Greece, plus manufacturer evidence checked that day. Both selected titles specify 12GB RAM and 512GB storage, but the colours differ: S25 Navy versus S26 Black. We have not tested the phones side by side, obtained installed repair quotes or completed a retailer checkout.

The €100 difference has a specific scope

The selected Kotsovolos observations were captured on the FixIndex S25 source page and S26 source page on 5 November. The numbers below remain that dated snapshot; use the current offers for a purchase.

Selected Kotsovolos listingMarket / conditionRetailer page referenceObserved item price
Galaxy S25, 12GB / 512GB, NavyGreece / new317991€1,249.99
Galaxy S26, 12GB / 512GB, BlackGreece / new332958€1,349.99

€1,349.99 − €1,249.99 = €100. This is an item-price difference between these selected listings, not a verified delivered-price difference, a discount from a former price or a claim to cover the whole market. Confirm taxes, delivery, compulsory charges, availability and the seller’s terms at checkout.

The colour difference is a real choice. If Navy is essential, the Black S26 is not a substitute. If either finish is acceptable, record that decision rather than silently treating them as identical variants. Confirm the complete regional model code too: a title containing the family name, RAM and storage does not establish every detail of the supplied device.

What you would be paying for

Samsung’s Greek comparison of the standard S25 and S26 documents these differences. Its regional warning matters: specifications for another country’s S26 need not describe a Greek listing.

Our interpretation: the S26 is worth investigating for the complete package, but the published camera counts and resolutions alone do not establish a camera upgrade. A processor name does not establish a measured advantage in your apps either. If gaming or photography motivates the purchase, seek a controlled comparison of that specific task before assigning a value to it.

For comfort, try the size you will actually carry. Samsung lists widths of 70.5mm for S25 and 71.7mm for S26. A preference for the smaller device is a legitimate reason to keep the cheaper option, even when the price gap is modest.

The battery evidence points in two directions

The EU product sheets for S25 SM-S931B/DS and S26 SM-S942B/DS provide a more useful ownership question than “Which battery is bigger?”. Match those model identifiers to the offered device before applying these figures.

Declared EU measureGalaxy S25Galaxy S26
Endurance per charge under the label test37 hours51 hours
Battery endurance in cycles2,0001,200
Repairability classCC

The S26 has the higher declared single-charge result; the S25 has the higher declared cycle figure. These measure different things. The Commission’s label explanation defines cycle endurance against the battery retaining 80% of its rated capacity.

These are published standardized declarations, not FixIndex measurements or promises about your routine. We cannot turn them into a forecast that one phone will need a battery replacement in a particular year. Nor does the common repairability class establish equal repair prices. A buyer prioritising time between charges should investigate the first row; someone planning long ownership should also take the second row and the practical repair route seriously.

Support is a remaining window, not a new term at checkout

Samsung’s launch announcements for S25 and S26 state seven generations of OS upgrades and seven years of security updates from each series’ global launch. Buying the older model later does not restart that period.

The later S26 launch therefore matters more to a plan reaching the end of the support window than to a short ownership plan. Check the current S25 support evidence and S26 support evidence for the exact model and region. A policy window does not guarantee battery condition, every future feature or hardware survival. Where FixIndex also shows a calculated EU planning floor, it is not a manufacturer-confirmed stop date.

Put the premium into your actual plan

For an illustrative 36-month plan, the observed €100 difference is approximately €2.78 per month, or €33.33 per year. This only spreads an upfront price difference across a period you chose. It is neither an instalment offer nor a complete ownership-cost forecast.

Use the checkout comparison to enter the final amounts for the two listings you would accept. Recalculate if the colour, capacity, seller or charges change. Keep conditional trade-in credits separate from money you must pay now, and add any necessary accessory only once.

We have no matched installed battery or screen repair quotes for this pair. Ask about parts, labour, tax and delivery if repair cost could change your decision; an absent quote is not a zero cost. Our repair worksheet is the appropriate next step if repairing your existing phone would solve the reason for shopping.

Choose a reason, then return to the offers

  • Consider S26 if either colour is acceptable and its support window or declared per-charge endurance matters enough to justify your confirmed premium.
  • Consider S25 if it meets your needs, you prefer its size or Navy finish, and retaining the difference has more value to you.
  • Keep your current phone if it remains suitable. If it is an S25, paying for a whole S26 is a different expense from choosing between two new purchases; the €100 comparison does not describe that upgrade.
