FixIndex: five phones within EU repairability class C Observation date: 2026-11-05 Article: https://fixindex.eu/blog/same-repairability-class-different-phones/ CSV: https://fixindex.eu/data/research/repairability-class-c-2026-11-05.csv Scope Five purposefully selected Apple and Samsung model records already covered by FixIndex. All five supplier-declared EPREL product information sheets were checked for the fields below on 5 November 2026. This is a fixed public-document comparison, not a representative sample, hands-on test or current offer feed. The observation date is not the publication date of the supplier's document. Fields checked_on: date of this scoped document check, YYYY-MM-DD. model: familiar model name used by FixIndex; the exact regional identity follows. model_identifier: exact model identifier in the supplier's EPREL sheet. eprel_registration: registration number identifying the source record. repair_class: declared class A-E; this sample deliberately contains only C. repair_index: supplier's published index, retained to two decimal places. disassembly_depth, fasteners, tools, spare_parts, software_updates_score, repair_information: six declared component scores, each on the method's 1-5 scale. software_updates_score is a score, NOT a number of years or an end date. battery_endurance_hours: declared endurance per charge under the EU method. battery_endurance_cycles: declared endurance in charge/discharge cycles under the EU method. Neither battery field predicts an individual user's runtime or calendar lifespan. source_url: direct link to the exact official EPREL product information sheet. Method Class C covers 2.55 <= R < 3.35 under Regulation (EU) 2023/1669. https://eur-lex.europa.eu/eli/reg_del/2023/1669 The headline spread is 3.23 - 2.79 = 0.44 index points. It is not a percentage of repair difficulty, repair cost or useful life. Published indices are retained rather than recalculated from displayed, rounded component scores. Reproduction Repository: https://github.com/konsevdi/fixindex Snapshot: src/data/research/repairability-class-c-2026-11-05.json Command: node pipeline/research/repairability-class-c.mjs --check The command checks that the public CSV matches the fixed snapshot and prints the count, minimum, maximum and spread. It makes no network requests and does not update model records. --write regenerates only this CSV from the snapshot.
